For the project, our group decided on making artefacts that we can then use and produce into a film showing how we are all contributing to our own destruction. For this, my job was making a painting on a canvas and getting many different angle videos of the creation of this so that Jess has loads of videos to work with for the film. For the painting, it could have been of anything as the story is about how we create lovely things. For this, I wanted to add a backstory behind the painting itself to give double meaning to the piece. Our ideas are to show the tools and materials and how this is adding to climate change and destruction, but, I also decided to show our initial research in this painting and try and show the emotion of wildfires.

Here are some videos I took to show the process of working with close-ups and slow Mo, mainly experimenting with how I can present my painting.
Overall, I had so much fun creating the painting and felt it was a great learning experience for me as I’ve never really experimented with video before when painting. Jess specializes in this subject as she does media and she was a big help in leading me through this process by telling me what to record and all the elements she wanted to make our video the best it can be.
Now I have complete the videos I have given Jess the best amount of time she can get to put together the video to allow it to share our narrative for the final presentation.
