Urban Commons and Architectural Implication – DESIGN: MAJOR PROJECT PREPARATION

To start off with for the project I wrote out the 4 definitions of Commons which would be helpful to understand and get an idea of for the project.
When it came to talking in a group about architectural representation of commons, we started by looking at activities and how these could then relate to an architectural idea. This then helped me to come up with an idea looking into biodiversity and the loss of biodiversity in urban environments.

When linking biodiversity to an architectural implication for our pavilions I chose to have something which would give awareness to the community on issues relating to biodiversity and what biodiversity Brighton has in Valley Gardens already:

Looking at these Ideas I then thought the idea of a seed bank would fit well into ideas of biodiversity as it would be a space which is holding seeds for the future so we are loosing less biodiversity and have a storage of these seeds.
Some research carried out on seed banks to get an idea of how they work.
