These are my analysis sheets for the project. All of these sheets will be used for my final design submission apart from the sheet on environmental analysis. This is due to it not being as strong as my other analysis sheets. Under each sheet there is an explanation as to why this piece of analysis was carried out and why its important to my project.
This sheet is looking at the green spaces within Brighton (around Valley Gardens) and is showing the amount of public green space to gardens to see how people could be bringing more biodiversity to the City within their gardens. I have also looked into what biodiversity and the causes, as well as the UK in comparison to other countries around the world.This sheet is taking a similar approach to the first but is delving further into the biodiversity specifically found in Brighton and around Valley Gardens. This has given me an idea as to the close knit biodiversity of the white-letter hairstreak butterfly and the Elm tree collection. This has also given me an idea as to the species lacking habitats which is something I want to incorporate into my urban strategy.For this sheet I took feedback from studio and decided to look closer into an area of the site which I will be placing my Pavilion design for my artefact. With this I completed a sun shading analysis and took images around the site to create a natural palette of the site.This sheet is all about environment and he usually analysis taken of a site to understand its climate and sun/wind. For the history of the site I wanted to see how the commons has been used in the past and how it has evolved including the landscaping that has taken place. I also wanted to see how the land has developed over time and the urban fabrics so I have taken maps from 1890, 1960 and the present day and highlighted in red where changes are over time and how the road sizes have changed overall too.For my 5th sheet I have taken data on pollution and air pollution. i think this is vital information to show for biodiversity as I want to eliminate some of the pollution levels with my strategy.My final sheet is on population and age demographics. Knowing this information is helpful as I can understand the age demographics of people who will have most value and enjoyment of the space.
